Couple donate park for Parkville

Kevin Green and his wife, Sandra, have deeded 1.7 acres to Parkville for a park.

The property near the intersection of Missouri highways 9 and 45 is adjacent to Northwest 62nd Street entrance to the Pinecrest subdivision. Green will develop the remainder of the land at that location for an office park.

The Green property was rezoned to planned business district (B-4) from residential an agreement between the developer and the city to modify the original plat. The agreement included the park land.

“Preservation of natural greenspace within the city is important to everyone,” Alderman David Rittman said. “Kevin willingness to donate land at a key intersection is appreciated. It is an example of the cooperation between developers and the city that helps maintain our charm and charisma.”

The city granted Green a temporary construction easement through the park. Green agreed to restore the land to its original state following construction of the Lake Pointe Professional office buildings.
