Make way today for a ‘Makeover’ deluxe
Jesus and Michelle Jacobo of Kansas City no longer have to endure the confines of their Northland home. They and the 10 family members who have lived in a 912-square-foot house at 4132 N. Spruce Ave. will be getting gar more space in a new three-level home. ABC’s reality show “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” has sent the Jacobo family on a Florida vacation while construction workers and designers create their new home.

The Details

Crews will demolish the former home of the Jacobo family at noon today. Officials expect several thousand spectators to watch the destruction, which is expected to begin about 11 a.m. Shuttle busses will be available to get onlookers into the neighborhood.

The Extras

The reality show will donate and install new playground equipment at nearby Winnwood Park in Kansas City, North.

The Children’s Future

Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph has pledged to build a future for all nine children in the Jacobo home. The university is giving each of them a full tuition, room and board scholarship.
