Extreme Makeover House Construction wrapping up

The house is up, and the souvenir vendor has arrived.
Work crews have installed most of the siding and trim on the house being built by “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” On Sunday, the show’s designers will reveal the new light green home to the Jesus and Michelle Jacobo family at 4132 N. Spruce Ave.

Volunteers Thursday waited their turn to help with tasks such as carrying floor tile.

“It’s spring break, and this is something we can do to help,” said Megan Wagner, 19.

Some among the crowd were able to purchase the show’s official merchandise at a tent near the site – from a $20 ball cap to an $80 pink tool belt, similar to the one show designer Paige Hemmis wears.
